Happy Summer day from WIN 98.5 Hymntime Country Style! Summertime is the best when it comes to fresh veggies and herbs. Those items are a bonus if you enjoy making pizzas from scratch. As Jalynn loves to say “Momma is the best cook EVER!!” Ha Ha! Please don't let her know I'm not. I would hate to burst that bubble!
One night I made a crust-free pizza, which is inexpensive and fairly quick to make. All you need is: parchment paper, 1 can of pizza sauce, 2 cups of mozzarella cheese (more if you really like cheese) and 1 cup of parmesan cheese. Then add your favorite toppings. I love pepperoni, sausage, green pepper, bacon, ham, pineapple, tomatoes, red onion, mushrooms. I think that about covers it.
When making the pizza, spread the parchment paper over a cookie sheet. Spoon pizza sauce over parchment paper until covered. You might have leftover sauce depending on how big your pan is. Sprinkle a handful of parmesan and mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Pat cheese into sauce. Add toppings. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, Italian seasoning, basil leaves (fresh is best) over toppings, then add both cheeses to cover toppings. Bake at 375, until the cheese is melted and veggies are cooked. Check at 15 mins. After baking, slice and pick up with a spatula. You will want to eat with a fork! I hope you give it a try! Let me know how it turns out. Send pictures!
